A Woman, A Dog, and A Farm-Forged Mission

Hi, I’m Jodie, a 27-year-old regenerative farmer living and working on my small family hill farm in the Banneau Brehiniog, Wales

I make biochar by hand, from windfall trees to fire, using equipment I built myself and knowledge passed down through generations of land stewards. My border collie Chip is always at my side (or leading the way). Together, we're turning circular living from an idea into a way of life.

From Worm Farms to Kiln

My grandparents sold vegetables to local hotels from these very fields. My parents run Buckwood Studios, crafting beautiful pieces from the same timber I use for biochar. And me? I started with a shovel, a hole in the ground, and a vision for better soil.

Now I run a farm-forged kiln built from 100% recycled materials. I air-dry my biochar, soak it in collected rainwater, and package it with the same hands that hauled the wood.

Why Biochar?

Healthy soil is everything. It's where resilience starts. My biochar helps growers improve water retention, nutrient uptake, and microbial life — with zero synthetic inputs.

This isn’t a factory product. It’s a farmer’s process.

Sustainability Statement

I don’t claim to be perfect, but I believe in starting. Every step I take is in the right direction — one sack of soil-building biochar at a time.
