Biochar Application Rates
As a general guide, mix 5–10% biochar with soil or compost before planting. This supports long-term soil health and nutrient retention.

Top Dressing Method
Sprinkle charged biochar (biochar pre-infused with nutrients) around the base of existing plants. Water it in to help nutrients reach the root zone naturally.

Root Zone Integration
Apply charged biochar directly into the plant’s root zone using a garden spade. For deeper applications, try vertical mulching, ideal for trees and perennials.


Potting Mix Enhancement
Blend biochar into fresh potting mix for seedlings and new plantings. For established potted plants, gently work it into the surface using your hands or a hand rake.
